WAYNE FARMS OPENS ON-SITE HEALTH CLINIC
 
Wayne Farms is pleased to announce the addition of an on-site health clinic available to employees of the Wayne Farms Laurel facility.

In partnership with the South Central Regional Medical Center, Wayne Farms will open a medical clinic to employees beginning Wednesday, August 8, 2012. An on-site Family Nurse Practitioner will operate this clinic and see eligible patients every Monday through Friday, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.

In addition, Wayne Farms is also offering health insurance plan participants the opportunity to earn free membership to the South Central Regional Medical Center’s Wellness Center. Employees must first use the Wellness Center 8 times per month following enrollment in a health plan to receive the free membership thereafter. The wellness center grants employees the opportunity to work out and participate in a number of aerobic programs to improve their physical health and well being.

“We are very proud of this new effort and look forward to launching this exciting new facility and program,” Sam LeNarz, Complex Manager (Laurel) for Wayne Farms said. “The goal of Wayne Farms’ new partnership with South Central Regional Medical Center is to help improve and sustain the health and quality of life for Wayne Farms’ employees.”

Doug Higginbotham, President and Chief Executive Officer at South Central Regional Medical Center, said, “The management team at Wayne Farms approached us several months ago and asked that we help them develop a program which would improve the health and wellness of their employees. This is our first time to work with a local industry on the development of an on-site medical clinic. This clinic will provide Wayne Farms employees easy access to health care services.” Higginbotham continued by saying that South Central’s relationship with local business & industry is key. South Central started a Wellness Works program several years ago to assist businesses throughout the area in developing a streamlined approach to health care services. Today, more than 257 area businesses are part of the Wellness Works program.
