Features of The Women's Place:
19 beds on the postpartum/post gynecological surgery unit.
A Labor and Delivery Unit with 5 Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) rooms and 6 Antepartum, Outpatient Evaluation, and Extended Recovery rooms.
Surgical area that has two delivery rooms and a c-section room.
State-of-the-art fetal monitoring system in all of the patient rooms and at the nurses’ station.
32-bed nursery: The well-baby and transitional areas accommodate 12 infants each and the intensive care nursery accommodates eight infants.
Women’s health physical therapy program, which facilitates wellness and healing. The program offers outpatient services to women with urinary incontinence problems.
The Facility features all the warm and cozy comforts of home plus expert caregiving when you need it most.

Newborn Nursery
The newborn nursery at The Women's Place at South Central Regional Medical Center includes well-baby and level II intensive care nursery services. The facility is staffed by registered nurses and licensed practical nurses specializing in the field of infant care.
The nursery staff at South Central has more than 300 years of combined experience in the field of newborn care and each member of the nursery team of health care professionals has received certification in infant resuscitation and extensive training in well baby and sick baby care.
Parents and grandparents are provided instruction specific to the care of the newborn, and new mothers are given individual instruction on breast-feeding their infant. South Central has a flexible rooming in policy which allows the new mother and other family members to bond with the new baby.
Medical direction of the nursery is provided by pediatricians on staff at South Central Regional Medical Center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All babies have a designated nurse to care for their individual needs.
South Central has a beautiful 32-bed nursery.
The well-baby and transitional sections of the nursery can accommodate 12 infants each, and the intensive care nursery can accommodate 8 infants. The nursery encompasses approximately 2,800 square feet, making you and your new little one feel comfortable.
Our 365 Web Nursery
Welcome to the online photo display of babies recently born at South Central Regional Medical Center. This virtual photo album is designed for parents who wish to share their newborns' first pictures with family and friends. When a baby is born at a South Central Regional Medical Center, parents may choose to have a photo of their baby placed on the South Central Web site for viewing on the Internet. Parents are asked to sign permission forms that assure photos are taken and released in compliance with federal HIPAA regulations.

Digital photos are usually taken the day that mother and baby are discharged from the hospital. For security reasons, photos are posted to the Web site about two days later. Parents may also choose to password-protect their baby's photos. This allows photos to be viewed only by those to whom the parents give the password.
The online photo album gives parents a fast, fun way to share the joy of welcoming the new baby.
