Our Philosophy
Alcohol and drug dependency is a chronic, progressive disease that affects individuals physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. We believe that treatment should offer solutions for these life threatening problems. The treatment process offers coping skills necessary to live a life free from mood altering chemicals. The Recovery Center focuses on living a life free of addiction one day at a time represented by a coin to remind participants of their purpose.
The Program
South Central Recovery Center, Alcohol and Drug Dependency Unit offers primary treatment for the disease of chemical dependency. We believe that addiction to alcohol, cocaine, prescription drugs, etc. is a chronic progressive disease which renders the individual physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually dysfunctional. South Central Regional Medical Center offers an introduction to the recovery process in a structured drug free environment.
The program is highly structured and consists of:
Physical assessment by a physician
Phychological testing and evaluation by a psychologist

Cooperative referral agreements exist with other treatment facilities, both public and private, for the referral of a patient who is determined to be inappropriate for treatment at SCRMC-A&D Unit. Referral agreements also exist with public and private extended care facilities for the appropriate referral of patients who have successfully completed primary treatment but are determined to be in need of continued care. These facilities include halfway houses and other secondary treatment facilities.
Family Treatment Program
Chemical dependency affects not only the dependent person but also the family and friends around them. SCRMC-A&D Unit encourages families and close friends of patients to participate in the Family Treatment Program. The family program offers films, lectures, discussions, and group therapy. Family and friends need to know how they have been affected by chemical dependency. With this process, a meaningful recovery for all family members may be achieved.
