SCRMC Food Services Director Awarded
Jason Terry, SCRMC Food Services Director, was honored on July 22nd by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve with the Patriotic Employer Award. SCRMC Cafeteria Employee, Valeria Glover, nominated Terry for the award as a way of saying thank you for her treatment prior to her deployment overseas. Glover, who is part of the 647th Transportation Unit in Laurel, returned to work at SCRMC this week after serving 13 months overseas at Camp Taji and Camp Speicher in Iraq.

A Patriotic Employer Award is bestowed upon selected employers in gratitude of their contribution towards, “National Security and Protecting Liberty & Freedom by Supporting Employee Participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.” Mike Wilson, a Mississippi representative of the U.S. Department of Defense program, recognized Terry in person. Wilson also presented John Chioco, a SCRMC Associate Executive Director, with a 5-Star Award honoring South Central Regional Medical Center for their patronage towards the guard and the reserve and their continued support of employees who are involved in military service.
