Free Flu Shot Clinic SetThe flu is a virus that can be spread through the air when people cough and sneeze. It also spreads through hand-to-hand contact, so frequent hand washing using warm water and soap offers some measure of protection. But the best protection against the flu is to get an annual flu shot. South Central Regional Medical Center will offer a FREE community-wide flu shot clinic on Thursday, November 14, across from the McRaes courtyard in Sawmill Square Mall. The clinic will begin at 10 a.m. Flu shots will be given to the first 500 that attend. People age 65 and older and those with serious health problems are especially vulnerable to the flu. Others who should get the flu shot are health care workers, people who provide essential community services, and those who are healthy but want to lower their risk of catching the flu. |
