Attention Men: Get in the Zone!

The Men’s Health Network HealthZone program is an initiative specifically targeted to men, so they can see where they measure up on the scorecard of good health and, if needed, make the right changes to live healthier lives. Men face higher mortality rates than women for the 10 leading causes of death, in addition to a shorter life span.

Karen Vanderslice, RN, Community Education Coordinator at South Central says, “In conjunction with this national health initiative, South Central Regional Medical Center will sponsor a Men’s Health Fair that will provide area men a fast and convenient health screening and access to educational materials about diseases.” On average, men die 6 years earlier than women, Vanderslice says. “We encourage men to take advantage of this health event so they can gain the information they need to lead a long and productive life.”

The event will be held at South Central Place, in South Central Regional Medical Center’s new health education center. For more information, call 601-399-0506.
