Radiology Department Committed to Excellence in Care at South Central Regional Medical Center

Herrington is enjoying the new additions in technology at South Central. “Nationally, advancements in radiology technology are providing better diagnoses,” she says. “And, South Central is proud to offer some of the latest technology available today.”
The old technology took about 65 seconds to make a scan, but the new equipment takes only three seconds. “It’s unbelievable,” she says. “And, the images are wonderful.”
Striving for the Best
Herrington says she wants to make sure her patients have an excellent experience at South Central. “From the minute I pick them up in the lobby until the minute they leave,” she says, “I strive to do my very best.”“It’s important that my patients have a positive experience,” Herrington adds. “Communication also is imperative to what we do. Patients need to know what to expect.”
Herrington says that patience is also an important factor in working in the medical field. “I love it here,” she says. “I believe it’s my calling. I think it’s a godsend that I’m where I am because I love what I do.”
Part of the Community
Herrington loves to help people and reach out to people. “It is great to be a part of the community and to do something good for somebody,” she says.Radiology Team Is Like Family
Herrington says her coworkers are like family. “We all pull together. I feel good about what I’m doing, and I know my coworkers are there to support me. It’s my home away from home. I care about my coworkers like I care about my own family. It gets better every day.”“Our community doesn’t have to go anywhere else for the best technology,” she says, “because we have it right here at South Central. We have a vision for the future.”
South Central the Best in the Area
Herrington sees South Central being
the best in the area. She believes
that South Central has some of the
most qualified people on its radiology
team. “We are climbing,” she
says. “We have an open mind to
technology, and we want to move
up. We want to be a leader in this
profession, and we are all willing to
learn new skills.”
“South Central is such a great
place to work,” she says. “There is
opportunity here. You can continue
to learn and move up. You can
always better yourself.”
“And, it’s not about the employees at South Central,” she says. “If there weren’t any patients there wouldn’t be any employees. It’s all about our patients.”
Herrington wants to see her patients smile. “It’s really hard because people are uncomfortable when they’re sick,” she says, “so I just try to make them smile and have a good experience. It’s the little things that count.”
“I love my job,” Herrington says. “It makes me feel good to work for an organization that is committed to excellence.”
