South Central's Sleep Lab Receives Accreditation
The Sleep Lab at
South Central Regional Medical Center has been accredited as
a full-service sleep disorders lab by the American Academy of
Sleep Medicine (AASM).
The accreditation process involved a detailed inspection of the facility and staff and the evaluation of testing procedures, patient contacts, physician training and other related aspects. In order to receive accreditation status from the AASM, the facility had to meet all standards designated by the Academy for professional, quality health care. According to the official accreditation application, the facility must have a clear understanding of its goals and be dedicated to providing quality medical care to the community it serves.
The Sleep Lab at South Central is one of only eight accredited sleep labs in the state of Mississippi.
