South Central Regional Medical Center: A Great Place to Work

Looking for a job with an organization that cares about you?

Imagine going to work knowing your child is safe at a company-sponsored child development center half a block away.

Imagine working for an organization that allows you to share in its financial success.

Imagine an organization that offers a comprehensive benefit plan that can be tailored to meet your special needs.

If any or all of these options appeal to you, South Central Regional Medical Center (SCRMC) is the place for you. The hospital is looking for dedicated workers in all areas of health care to join its skilled team.

“SCRMC is always looking to attract the best and brightest in the health care field, and we have many benefits that make the hospital a very attractive place to work,” says Janet Staples, SCRMC’s Director of Human Resources. “We try to be very responsive to our employees’ needs.”

SCRMC Listens to Employees
SCRMC took note when employees talked about their need for child care. The hospital opened The Children’s Academy this past October. The center cares for employees’ children, ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years.

The facility employs workers trained in first aid and is state-certified in playground safety. The staff provides a wide range of creative activities for the children. These activities include everything from music and art to working on the computer. Parents can eat with their children at lunchtime. There also is a private room for mothers to breastfeed their babies.

But the biggest advantage of the center is its hours. The center is open Monday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“Our facility has been a great success,” said Staples. “We’ve recruited many employees who were attracted to our child development center with the extended hours they needed.”

Be a Star
And that’s just the beginning of the benefits SCRMC offers to attract top-notch employees:

  • The STAR (Successful Teamwork Achieves Rewards) program allows workers to reap the financial rewards of outstanding customer and company service.
  • Employees can choose one of three health care plans that most closely fits their needs.
  • Employees are eligible for life, disability, accidental, dental, and retirement insurance coverage.

“South Central Regional Medical Center is a great place to work,” Staples says. “We’re very patient-centered, and we think of ourselves as a family.”
