South Central Clinics and
Services Recognized Nationally
for Service Excellence

Several South Central Regional Medical Center clinics and services received national recognition for excellence in patient satisfaction at an awards ceremony held in June of 2007 in Bonita Springs, Florida. The event was hosted by Professional Research Consultants, an Omaha, Nebraska-based patient satisfaction research firm. South Central was the only hospital in Mississippi recognized at the event.

The following South Central clinics and services received 5-Star Awards at the annual conference: Ellisville Medical Clinic, OB/GYN Group of Laurel, South Central Recovery Center, and South Central Senior Care. The 5-Star award is given to the select group of clinics and hospital services that are in the top 10 percentile in patient satisfaction rankings nationally. Laurel Pediatric Clinic and OB/GYN Associates of Laurel, also owned by South Central, received a 4-Star Award scoring in the top 25th percentile nationally.

Doug Higginbotham, South Central’s executive director, says, “We have developed a culture at South Central that focuses on providing excellent care and service to our patients and guests. Today, we have more than 2,100 dedicated health care professionals across our health system that provide care and service to this community and I am proud of their efforts. Placing nationally in patient satisfaction is something we can all be proud of.”

By continually bringing new and better services and technology to the community, South Central Regional Medical Center has improved health care in this region. Higginbotham says, “Local residents have shown their confidence in us by utilizing local health care services. We appreciate the support and the trust our community has placed in us over the years, and we will continue to work hard to maintain that trust.”
