South Central Extended Care in Ellisville

South Central Extended Care in Ellisville, is a 17 bed self-contained facility which has full licensed nursing around the clock seven days a week.
The Staff at the facility includes:
- RNs, LPNs and CNAs
- a full time physical therapy technician
- an occupational therapist
- speech therapist
- social worker
- activities director and a
- full dietary department with dining room facilities
Services include:
- non-routine care of cast and wounds
- tube feedings
- IV or IM medications
- frequent nasopharyngeal and/or tracheostomy suctioning
- urethral catheter/sterile irrigation
- dressings
- decubitus care (stages 3 or 4)
- colostomy/ileostomy care and instruction
- bowel and/or bladder training
- skilled nursing observation
- skilled cardiac, respiratory, diabetes teaching
- pain management
- respiratory therapy
- OT/PT/speech rehabilitation
- physical therapy provided at least 20 minutes, twice a day
- strengthening after surgery
- chaplain visits
- pet therapy
- full activity program
- beautician and barber services can be arranged
Admission process:
- the resident must have had a 3-day medically necessary qualifying hospital stay
- while still in the hospital, the resident will be discharged from the acute care bed and readmitted to the Extended Care Facility
- residents may be admitted to the Extended Care only upon the order of a physician
- need for skilled nursing care daily and/or skilled rehabilitation services on 5 out of 7 days per week must be shown
- final approval for admission will be made by the Facility Director, Medical Director and Social Services upon receipt of need for skilled services.
South Central Extended Care in Ellisville features a family type atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to bring possessions from home to make their surroundings as home-like as possible.
Family is encouraged to participate in resident care and therapy.
