Introduction
South Central RecoveryCenter is a hospital based alcohol and drug dependency facility. It is conveniently located on the third floor of South Central Regional Medical Center. The inpatient unit treats alcohol and drug dependent individuals and offers services so each person's needs can be met.
The facility offers a therapeutic setting in which the patients enjoy private rooms, comfortable therapy rooms, dining and community rooms. It is staffed by qualified and certified medical and clinical personnel ensuring that each patient receives quality care. It also presents a relaxed and therapeutic environment which ensures that the patient's needs for privacy and safety are met.
Philosophy
Alcohol and drug dependency is a chronic, progressive disease that affects individuals physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. We believe that treatment should offer solutions for these life threatening problems. The treatment process offers coping skills necessary to live a life free from mood altering chemicals.
The Program
South Central Recovery Center, Alcohol and Drug Dependency Unit offers primary treatment for the disease of chemical dependency. We believe that addiction to alcohol, cocaine, prescription drugs, etc. is a chronic progressive disease which renders the individual physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually dysfunctional. South Central Regional Medical Center offers an introduction to the recovery process in a structured drug free environment.
At SCRMC-A&D Unit we strive to provide the best care and individual attention possible.
The program is highly structured and consists of:
- Physical assessment by a physician
- Phychological testing and evaluation by a psychologist
- Diagnostic and psychological interview with a qualified A&D Counselor
- Individual Counseling
- Group Therapy
- Education on the the disease of addiction
- Film Lectures, and Study Materials
- Peer assessment and feed back
- Recreational and leisure activities
- Psychiatric evaluation
- Individual treatment plans
- Spiritual counseling
- AA and NA in-house/outside meetings
- Individual aftercare planning
- Family Treatment Program
Cooperative referral agreements exist with other treatment facilities, both public and private, for the referral of patient who is determined to be inappropriate for treatment at SCRMC-A&D Unit. Referral agreements also exist with public and private extended care facilities for the appropriate referral of patients who have successfully completed primary treatment but are determined to be in need of continued care. These facilities include halfway houses and other secondary treatment facilities.
Family Treatment Program
Chemical dependency affects not only the dependent person but also the family and friends around them. SCRMC-A&D Unit encourages families and close friends of patients to participate in the Family Treatment Program. The family program offers films, lectures, discussions, and group therapy. Family and friends need to know how they have been affected b chemical dependency. With this process, a meaningful recovery for all family members may be achieved.
Admissions Are Accepted Seven Days A Week, 24 Hours A Day
Confidentiality
In order to protect the right of privacy and confidentiality of information required by law, South Central Recovery Center cannot release information confirming or denying the presence, location or condition of a patient without a prior written release.
Visiting Hours
Families are encouraged to visit the patient while at South Central Recovery Center. Visiting hours are scheduled on a weekly basis with staff approval, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Personal Items
What to bring: casual clothing including athletic clothing (tennis shoes, jogging type clothes) toilet articles and stationery.
Laundry Facilities
A washer, dryer and iron are available for patient use.
Mail
Friends and relatives are encouraged to write to the patient.
